Hi, does anyone know if there is an official / built-in way to get wireless Apple carplay support in the 2020 Range Rover L405 ?

Mine has Apple Carplay but requires a connection through the cable (which is honestly not super table). I know I can buy adapters to support carplay wirelessly but I was wondering if there is any software update available to natively support Apple Wireless Car Play on that car?

Also, am I correct to understand that Pivi and Pivi Pro are not supported on the 2020 L405 ?

Can I add third party apps to my InControl Touch Pro? Like built in spotify? If not, what good is the SIM card slot for in my car?

Thanks
Erwan

I have never heard about official way to get wireless CarPlay. I am currently using the carlinkit3.0 for wireless connection on my Range Rover 2021. I have been using it for 2 years. The wireless connection is as smooth as wired CarPlay. If you want to add third party apps you can go for their ai box, which is around $140-$170. The 3.0 is $55 now from carlinkitbox.

Hello, I have a 2020 autobiography and there is no wireless CarPlay capability, at that I know of. But I too have a Carlink 3.0. I bought it two year’s ago when I purchased my Panamera.i as Los used it in MBZ GLE450, and now my Rover. And just like John SL, I too have had great results with a great connection, just as if wired. It’s Rock Solid! I do think it’s a PIA that I need to go into my phone’s Bluetooth settings every time I connect! ( although it may be user error) and the settings are not properly configured. One other thing is that Land Rover did not plan for us to get an aftermarket CarPlay adapter, and therefore you will need to figure out the best way for you to get power to keep your phone charged, st least for long drives. I did see an aftermarket Q charging system that replaces the lid on the refrigerator with a Q base that would be awesome, but was nearly $400 if I remember correctly. I’m with John SL, get a Carlink and you’ll be pleased. Amazon has them and they can deliver it tomorrow.
